Antics is the second studio album by American rock band Interpol, released on September 27, 2004 by Matador Records. Upon its release, the album peaked at number fifteen on the Billboard 200 and number 21 on the UK Albums Chart, and went on to sell over 488,000 copies in the United States.

Antics exudes a preceding aura of heaviness- even the packaging is heavy; the album's cryptic liner notes consist of little more than stark grayscale photos and epigrammatic Morse code spelling out bits of song titles ("Length", "Narc", "Cruise", "Exit", respectively). Antics shows Interpol shedding the weight of their accumulated baggage and (hopefully) staying a while.

Antics is the second album by New York City-based band Interpol, released in 2004 selling 488,000 copies in the . and over 100,000 in the UK. Although more confident than its predecessor, Turn on the Bright Lights, it largely repeats the same formula of sparse arrangement driven by bass throb and strong drums, with powerful, evocative lyrics sung in a resonant, somber voice by vocalist Paul Banks and intricate guitar lines, reminiscent of The Chameleons. Musically speaking, the general tone of this record is remarkably brighter than its darker predecessor.

Had Interpol been honest with themselves before making their second album, they would've accepted the fact that improving on the debut would be out of the question. Their prime objective, then, would be to make a different record - not a better one. Suck it up, prepare for the inevitable "sophomore slump" darts, and get on with it. Having fielded comparison after comparison since the release of Turn on the Bright Lights, you'd think the band would've also thought to be more cautious the second time around.

ANTICS is a great album, with good vibes, wonderfull rythm tunes and melodics, and a kicking ass bass grooves that give you the goosebumps! This vinyl is an excellent gift you can give yourself or to someone you care and that loves good music. As a Interpol fan you gonna love have this quality sounds in your repertoir.
