Rebel was the first solo album of John Miles. It was his most successful album to date with singles "Highfly" and "Music". When Miles eventually signed to Decca, they introduced him to producer Alan Parsons in the summer of 1975 (Miles would later sing on several tracks on several albums of the Alan Parsons Project). The first song they recorded was the song "Highfly" and it was released as a single eventually reaching in the .

Quite why Zaragon did not enjoy the success their album warranted, or indeed why they only ever recorded one album, seems to be something of a mystery. Perhaps their timing, during nadir of prog, was to say the least unfortunate. Whatever the reasons, all the indications here are that the band could have gone on to become a major force in prog had they recorded a few more albums.

This is John Miles best album some of the best progressive rock of the 70s. It just doesn't get any better than this. The moment I heard the song back in the 70s, however, I immediately picked up on the fact that Zaragon is really The Gospel According to John Miles, sort of a "Chariots of the Gods" based on the stories of the young Jesus. There are more than a few parallels between Miles' story of the child alien and the star of the New Testament.
