Rebel (John Miles album). Because of the success of the single, plans were made to record a full album and recording of the album took place in November–December 1975 at Abbey Road Studios. The song "Music" was released, became an instant hit (reaching number 3 in the UK, number 88 in the United States) and is one of his most memorable songs. The album reached the lower level of the . Billboard 200 albums chart, peaking at The album title was based on the album cover on which he posed with a big gun on his shoulders reminding very much of James Dean who is considered a rebel.

Jarrow's JOHN MILES popped out his debut album "Rebel" in March 1976 on Decca Records and promptly took his native Blighty by storm (and everywhere else for that matter as evidenced by the number of picture sleeves to the "Music" single on Page 2 of the gorgeous booklet)  . JOHN MILES - Lead Vocals, Guitars, Keyboards BOB MARSHALL - Bass BARRY BLACK - Drums And Percussion Guests: The Maggini Quartet - Strings on "Music" Phil Kenzie - Saxophone solo on "Lady Of My Life" Andrew Powell - String Arrangements.

John Miles follow up to the Rebel album was entitled Stranger in the City. Once again the release of the album was followed by a huge media advertising campaign in the United States. The album was produced by Rubert Holmes who would have a huge hit on his own in 1979 with Escape(The Pina Colada Song) During the time between the Rebel and Stranger in the City Albums, John Miles toured in the . opening. On the Outrider album, John Miles sang lead vocals on the songs Wasting my Time, and Wanna Make Love. Both songs were co-written between Jimmy Page and John Miles. The same album also featured lead vocals by Robert Plant leaving John Miles in pretty good company. The list below presents some of the best John Miles songs of his career. We were careful not to utilize too much of the first two albums in which most of the best stuff of his career can be found.
