All lyrics from Storm Of The Light's Bane album, popular Dissection songs with tracklist and information about album.

Storm of the Light's Bane is the second full-length album by the Swedish black metal band Dissection. The album was released on November 17, 1995 by Nuclear Blast Records. This would be the band's last full-length album before Nödtveidt's 1997 incarceration for the felony murder of Josef ben Meddour. It would not be until 2006 that they would release their third and final album Reinkaos, which was followed by Jon Nödtveidt's suicide and the breakup of the band.

Certainly, Dissection had built up a strong core ability by the point of The Somberlain, and this second album saw that intensity grow. The percussion is constantly busy, and it gives Storm of the Light's Bane a feeling of consistent intensity. I've got a lot of respect for Storm of the Light's Bane, and that respect is heightened when I stop to consider the band didn't have much to direct inspire the direction with, outside of The Somberlain from a couple years earlier.

On their final full-length album, Dissection further refines their brand of icy black/death metal with impressive and frightening results. The guitars, with their gloomy minor-key riffs and intentionally blurred tones, feel like a cold wind on the permafrost. The drums are speedy, intricate, and precise, while frontman Jon Nodtveidt's vocals - delivered in an evil, mid-range rasp - top off what amounts to just a nightmarishly dark sound  . Sure, there is a little bit of melodrama here, but Dissection is most certainly on top of their game, and Storm of the Light's Bane is deservedly hailed as a landmark in the melodic black/death metal genre.

A testpress was sold for over 800 euro and people are asking for 5000 euro for a normal version....

And again... there's a test pressing included in the sales history, which pushed the max. price above 800 Euro...unnecessary

I only add releases that I own. With facts that I can prove on my own copy and pics of my own copy (what I did with the original release of this record, which I own). The seller of the testpress was too lazy to do that and used the marketplace of the wrong version to sell his copy. Result is: Wrong price information online, further sellers offer copies overblown prices.
