Only for completionists (0%). This is a Japanese copy of an album with a Dutch artist, who has been around since 1989 in different projects. His real name is Ernst van der Kerkhof, and Alan Case is only a pseudonym. Alan CASE handles some of the vocals himself together with four other vocalists. Sometimes the vocalist sounds like Paddy McAloon (PREFAB SPROUT) and Michael Hutchence (INXS).

If you are looking for solace during a blue day, "Dreaming Wide Awake" will keep you company like a true friend. Unfortunately, Wide Awake! isn’t Parquet Courts’ best album. However, the correct conclusion here would be to repeat what Robert Christgau once said about The Clash’s Sandinista: if this is their worst - which it is, I think - they must be, er, the world's greatest rock and roll band. On this evidence, Parquet Courts deserve similar plaudits. Wide Awake! is a modern gem recapturing the original essence of what made punk so good.
