In 1997, the United States Army Field Band Jazz Ambassadors recorded the album, The Legacy of Hank Levy. A video documentary on his life and work, A Head of Time: Ahead of Time, was completed in 2000, made by Audio Visual Artist's Productions which videotaped Hank working with the Jazz Ambassadors. The owner of the company, Dick Slade, became an admirer when he heard Hank’s arrangements on a Stan Kenton album in 1972. Hank retired in 1989 after 21 years as head of the jazz studies program.
