This album makes a somewhat fragmented impression since it was recorded on four occasions between the years 1963 and 1966 in different formations. However, it also makes the album more interesting. We have a great opportunity to compare Hank Mobley over time and his changing companions. It is remarkable how well everyone plays. However, the compositions are of irregular quality. Hank Mobley wrote all tracks, except the last one which was recorded in the earliest set. Maybe it is a coincidence, but the first three tracks (the latest recorded) are by far the most fascinating.
