Tyr (/ˈtɪər/) (stylized as ᛏᛉᚱ) is the 15th studio album by English rock band Black Sabbath, released in August 1990 by . The album title, and several song titles, allude to Norse mythology, which led many to call Tyr a concept album, although bassist Neil Murray dispelled that in 2005, stating that while many of the songs may seem loosely related, very little of the album has to do with mythology and it was not intended to be a concept recording.

TYR was the first Black Sabbath album I listened to – after it, I went back in history to know all of their work. I first boght Tyr twenty years ago when I first started getting into all of Black Sabbath’s studio albums. Headless Cross was my first one two years earlier but I got into most of the other Sabbath albums in 1995. I was very impressed with Tony Iommi’s guitar work and Cozy Powell’s drumming. Listening to it twenty years later while living here in China brought back the same magic of the first time I heard it. Although I had listened to Tyr many times while living in China, nothing compared to hearing it to commemorate 20 years since the first time.

Tyr is a music studio album recording by BLACK SABBATH (Prog Related/Progressive Rock) released in 1990 on cd, lp, vinyl and/or cassette.

Tyr was released in the United Kingdom and United States in late August of 1990. This album is filled with many hits and few misses as well as more references to Norse mythology, Latin lyrics, and yet another new band lineup. Who the Heaven & Hell is still in Black Sabbath" Well fortunately for us lead guitarist and sole surviving Black Sabbath member Tony Iommi has remained with the band from day one. Also returning on Tyr from the Headless Cross album are Cozy Powell on drums, vocalist Tony Martin and Geoff Nicholls on keyboards. Laurence Cottle however did not return to play on Tyr and was replaced with former Whitesnake bassist Neil Murray.
