Spectres is the fifth studio album by Blue Öyster Cult, released in November 1977. The album, which features one of the band's biggest hits, the concert staple "Godzilla," was certified gold in January 1978. The cover art features Blue Öyster Cult's use of lasers in their live show at that time. A remastered version was released on CD on February 13, 2007, and included four previously unreleased outtakes from the Spectres sessions as bonus tracks.

Spectres is Blue Öyster Cult’s fifth album, released in November 1977, it was the follow up to their best-selling album, Agents of Fortune, and also features one of their biggest hits, Godzilla. What have the artists said about the album? Eric Bloom talked about the album in an interview for Music Radar: We had just come off a big hit, so we were probably trying to reproduce it in some ways. You can’t always do that, and Spectres wasn’t as big as Agents, but it still did extremely well and kept us going
