The Revölution by Night is the ninth studio album by Blue Öyster Cult. It was released in November, 1983, by Columbia Records. It is the first album to not feature the original band lineup, as Albert Bouchard was replaced by Rick Downey during the Fire of Unknown Origin tour. Despite the moderate success of "Shooting Shark" and its heavy radio airplay, the album failed to attain Gold status. Eric Bloom - lead vocals, guitar. The Revölution by Night is the ninth Blue Öyster Cult’s studio album. This was the first album by BÖC not to feature all of the band’s classic members, drummer Albert Bouchard having been fired during the previous tour. Shooting Shark became a radio hit. The song Take Me Away, co-written by Eric Bloom and Aldo Nova, also received significant airplay on AOR radio.
