The Flaming Lips and Heady Fwends is the first album in the "Fwends" series by the American rock band The Flaming Lips in collaboration with a variety of guests. Four songs from the album were previously released on collaborative EPs in 2011.
If anything, Heady Fwends is arguably an even more wiggy experience than Embryonic, an album that marked the Lips' return to brain-bending, fuzz-covered psychedelia, but was still very much beholden to the record-collector canon of Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, and Can. Heady Fwends immediately adopts a more sacrilegious tack. Taken back-to-back, "2012" and "Ashes in the Air" provide a handy microcosm of the emotional extremes between which the Flaming Lips vacillate on Heady Fwends. Fortunately, the album's expert sequencing makes the shifts between the two poles feel natural, and puts tracks that wouldn't necessarily stand on their own to effective transitional use.
Pressed By – United Record Pressing. This is the blood-filled version of the Heady Fwends release. Wayne Coyne claimed that he had requested and was given blood samples from some of the album's collaborators. The double LPs with blood inside were pressed at United Record Pressing in Nashville. com site: One copy was.

Their quadraphonic 1997 album, Zaireeka, needed four stereos to be heard as intended. More recently, they put out an EP as a USB stick encased in edible gum skulls. But for all their theatricality, the Flaming Lips' shtick has only ever reinforced the sense of wonderment that runs through their songs like a rivulet of CGI mercury. The Lips' latest assault on good sense is a 13-track album of collaborations with everyone and their grandmother – almost literally.
Tracklistings come from MusicBrainz. Instead of panicking, the Lips have spent 2012 experimenting more wantonly than ever. On many levels it’s a delight.
It pains me to slate an album by a band I love, but needs must; The Flaming Lips and Heady Fwends is a flatulent folly, humming with the sulphurous reek of self-indulgence. Much like that sentence, you might add, but bear with me. The F'Lips' 2009 album Embryonic was the sound of a band re-energised, adding a heady dose of krautrock and electric Miles Davis to their classic formula of huge drums, fuzzy guitars and bubblegum psych
