Taking listeners on a journey through Rush's seminal, prog-heavy early period, Sector 1 is the first in a series of three box sets released by the band in 2011. Collecting the band's first five albums, Rush, Fly by Night, Caress of Steel, 2112, and the live album All the World’s a Stage, the set shows Rush finding their feet artistically as they grow from a Led Zeppelin-inspired blues-rock band on their debut to the wildly ambitious band that released 2112, an album with a 20-minute title track.

It stems from a production flaw and it is currently being addressed. Sector 1 contains the long overdue remasters of the first four studio albums and first live album from Rush. It's a good if unspectacular effort highlights being Finding My Way for its killer riff and likewise Working Man.

Rush is the debut studio album by Canadian rock band Rush, released on March 1, 1974 by the band's own label Moon Records in Canada and by Mercury Records in the United States and internationally. Their first release shows much of the hard rock sound typical of many of the popular rock bands emerging earlier in the decade. Rush were fans of such bands as Led Zeppelin and Cream, and these influences can be heard in most of the songs on the album.

Sectors is a three-volume compilation of Rush's historic 15 album run on Mercury Records from 1974 to 1989, broken down into three separate box sets. Each box set includes five chronological albums, all transferred to high resolution 96kHz/24-bit audio and digitally remastered for optimal quality. Sector 1 covers the band's earliest period starting in 1974 and includes Rush, Fly By Night, Caress Of Steel, 2112 and All The World's A Stage. It was very important to me that these be the best representation of the catalog possible and I think we accomplished that
