At Folsom Prison is a live album by Johnny Cash, released on Columbia Records in May 1968. After his 1955 song "Folsom Prison Blues", Cash had been interested in recording a performance at a prison. His idea was put on hold until 1967, when personnel changes at Columbia Records put Bob Johnston in charge of producing Cash's material. Cash had recently controlled his drug abuse problems, and was looking to turn his career around after several years of limited commercial success.

A Concert: Behind Prison Walls. Sorry all you Johnny Cash lovers, but you're wrong. This is indeed as great concert and very enjoyable to listen to. Considering the age of this recording the sound is excellant. I think the problem here is the way this concert was promoted. Eagle Records, foolishly put Johnny Cash on the cover only like he was the only person signing on it, when clearly he is not. This is why some people feel "cheated". To Eagle Records I say please do not do this again. All the artists in this concert should have been given equal billing. You see it's true, honesty IS the best policy

The remainder of the album was taken up by his televised "special guests," including Linda Ronstadt (who sounds fine, though one wonders if this was the best audience for either "You're No Good" or "Desperado"), Roy Clark (who sings "That Honeymoon Feeling," no matter what the liner notes say, and it is some sort of landmark in bathetic Nash-Vegas.
