The opening track is one of the highlights of this album. Star of Sarajevo conjures up a luscious opening ambience, with ominous overtones. At just over eleven and a half minutes, Omphalos introduces harder darkness setting this album apart from other Isomer releases such as Zero Lounge. Other good moments on the album include Every Man a Star with its sonic shoreline soundscape. The title track is near the end of the track listing and drones through its orchestrated gloom – a powerful cinematic piece of music. The finale to Serpent Age has a strong introduction unloading itself into a noise infested build up, sustaining to call the end of its four and a half minutes. This is one of Isomers best works.
