Tom Rush hit on the perfect combination with 1968's classic The Circle Game. He found his voice in the songs of other modern writers, bringing about the age of the singer/songwriter in the process. 1970's self-titled release (not to be confused with his folk-blues album, also self-titled, from 1965) again features the work of James Taylor ("Rainy Day Man") and the then-unsigned Jackson Browne ("These Days," "Colors of the Sun"), along with tunes by Fred Neil ("Wild Child") and Jesse Colin Young ("Lullaby").

Tom Rush (1970 album). Tom Rush is the 1970 album from pioneer Folk rock musician Tom Rush. He covers songs from fellow folkies Jackson Browne, Murray McLauchlan, James Taylor and David Wiffen. Guest musicians were David Bromberg on Dobro and Red Rhodes on Steel Guitar.

Song 1 on Side 1 is listed as Driving Wheel on Album cover. Listed as Lost My Drivin' Wheel on label.

I’m going down to Nashville to record a new album of self-penned songs, and maybe a traditional tune or two. In olden times this would have been funded by a Big Record Company, and they would have wanted a lien on your soul and a second mortgage on your first-born son. (There might be a song in there!) Nowadays, through the magic of PledgeMusic, a musician can ask the music-lovers to support the project-and that’s where you come in. I’m offering a dazzling array of exclusives, from a monogrammed guitar pick to a private concert, to entice you to get involved.
