Rush is the debut studio album by Canadian rock band Rush, released on March 1, 1974 by the band's own label Moon Records in Canada and by Mercury Records in the United States and internationally. Their first release shows much of the hard rock sound typical of many of the popular rock bands emerging earlier in the decade. Rush were fans of such bands as Led Zeppelin and Cream, and these influences can be heard in most of the songs on the album.

Now I, like many other Rush fans, were a little surprised that the boys from the great white north were putting out another live album so soon after the last one. In fact, in their 30 year career, Rush followed the pattern of releasing four studio albums, then one live album. That pattern held true up until Rush in Rio which followed after only one studio album since their last live effort, 'Different Stages'

Rush - In Rio is a music live recording by RUSH (Heavy Prog/Progressive Rock) released in 2003 on cd, lp, vinyl and/or cassette. My reaction upon hearing Rush - In Rio for the first was that it probably was the best live album that I have ever heard! But although my original enthusiasm this album hasn't received much more attention from me since then and is instead currently collecting dust on a shelf. First I blamed this inconsistency on this album's incredible length that doesn't necessary make me want to pop it in the stereo on regular basis, but that's really only one of the main reasons.
