Full "fixed" version of Pullhair Rubeye with the reversed, streched or live versions of the songs to be heard as they were recorded, i also added some o. .
But Pullhair Rubeye is a good example of an album starting off startlingly well and then not going far beyond the bounds set up in that initial step. The opening song, "Sis Around the Sandmill," is a striking piece of haunting murk, a collage of loops.
Pullhair Rubeye is a collaborative studio album released by Animal Collective member Avey Tare (David Portner) and his then-wife Kría Brekkan (Kristín Anna Valtýsdóttir, formerly of Mm). The album was released April 24, 2007 via Paw Tracks. The songs were written in August 2005 in Paris, recorded with guitars and piano on an eight-track during 2006 in their practice space in Brooklyn and later mixed down on a borrowed two track.

Tare and his wife, Kria Brekkan (of Mum fame) give us Pullhair Rubeye, an excursion into the uncharted world of reversed music. It sounds like, at the least, an interesting concept: record an album of acoustic guitar, piano and voice and flip it over. Not a single note of music here is left untouched, making for an thirty minute collection of alien midwest songs. Opis Helpus" best represents the droning ambiance that one would assume Avey and Kria were trying to create, as instruments swirl and voices mingle and fade back and forth. Brekkan's vocals here sounding like chirping.

Posts about Pullhair Rubeye. Just as both were completing the mix, the two track broke down and they didn’t hear the mixes until two months later when they obtained another two track, being surprised by the recorded sounds. lt;br The album is based on the live set Avey Tare & Kria Brekkan. Exclusive Prime pricing. I don't know why, but for me music often equates to animals and Pullhair Rubeye is like following a pack of monkeys underwater. How am I going to explain that? I don't know if there is a real explanation but that's what it sounds like: monkeys swimming. I can just imagine some documentary film following one completely submerged so that the submerged echoes muddy the field recording as a beautiful melody provides the backdrop to the narrators description of the animal (I have been watching too many Planet Earth DVDs). Pullhair Rubeye is significant not because of its aesthetic and non-conceptual disposition, but also for its dedication to instinct and brave novelty (in the best sense of the word).
