Supernature is the third studio album by English electronic music duo Goldfrapp, released on 17 August 2005 by Mute Records. It debuted at number two on the UK Albums Chart with first-week sales of 52,976 copies, and was certified platinum by the British Phonographic Industry. Supernature has sold one million copies worldwide.

Supernature (Goldfrapp album). Supernature contains music in the same pop and electronic dance styles featured on Goldfrapp's previous studio album, Black Cherry (2003)-especially its singles "Strict Machine" and "Twist"-although it focuses on subtle hooks instead of large choruses Goldfrapp and Will Gregory recorded the bulk of Supernature in late 2004 in the countryside of Bath, England-the same place they recorded Black Cherry.

It's something of a mystery why Mute Records waited until early 2006 to release Goldfrapp's third album, Supernature, in the . After all, when it came out in the . the previous summer, it made the duo into a bona fide chart success, to the point where the album's terrific lead single, "Ooh La La" - on. which Allison Goldfrapp channels Marc Bolan's dippy-cool vocals and lyrics over a shuffling, glam-tastic beat - drew comparisons to former S Club 7 star Rachel Stevens' similarly glam-inspired hit "Some Girls.

Goldfrapp's third album, SUPERNATURE, follows close to their second, BLACK CHERRY. Whereas the change from their first to second albums was startling, SUPERNATURE seems to continue BLACK CHERRY's glitzy, glam formula. Ooh La La" and "Number 1," especially seemed destined for the top of the pop charts, while "Ride a White Horse" comes directly from the land of disco balls. The songs are definitely agreeable, from the pleasant "Fly Me Away" to the peppy "Koko.

Supernature is the third album by British electronic duo Goldfrapp. Most critics complimented its blend of pop and electronic music, while others called it uninspiring. Supernature was a top five album in Goldfrapp's native United Kingdom, and its lead single "Ooh La La" was a top five single.
