Description

Canción de Goldfrapp "Black Cherry", - Black Cherry (2003) Lyric How can it be? I can taste you now How can I see When you're everything All my world in on. .

Black Cherry" is an electronic song performed by British group Goldfrapp. The song was written and produced by Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory for the duo's second album Black Cherry (2003). It was a modest commercial success, reaching the top thirty in the United Kingdom and on the United States Hot Dance Singles Sales chart.

While their artistic risk-taking is commendable, unfortunately the same can't always be said for the results: Black Cherry sounds unbalanced, swinging between delicate, deceptively icy ballads and heavier, dance-inspired numbers without finding much of a happy medium between them.

Black Cherry is the second studio album by English electronic music duo Goldfrapp, released on 23 April 2003 by Mute Records. Black Cherry yielded four singles, including "Strict Machine", which reached number 20 on the UK Singles Chart. It earned the band a nomination for Best British Dance Act at the 2004 Brit Awards. The album was supported by the Black Cherry Tour (2003–04). Studio album by Goldfrapp.

Perhaps Goldfrapp herself was dissatisfied with its shortcomings. Train, the first single to be taken from her second album Black Cherry, indicates a major sonic overhaul. The soundtracky string arrangements and trip-hop rhythms have been replaced by something considerably darker and more interesting. Its beat sounds like an electronic variant on a glam rock stomp: David Bowie's Jean Genie fed through machines until it attains a whip-crack precision.

Goldfrapp - Black Cherry Goldfrapp’s Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory took no time making a name for themselves in the year 2000 with their debut release entitled, Felt Mountain. The record was nominated for the Mercury Prize and quickly established the duo as artists who combined electro and trip hop with extremely addictive pop sensibility. By the time the album’s title track kicks in I’m seriously wondering if it’s still 2003, or if I’ve time warped back in time to the year 1982. There is also the undeniable inspiration of such trip hop acts as Portishead and Massive Attack floating in both the musical productions as well as Alison’s vocal styles throughout Black Cherry. This is most evident on Deep Honey, with the Portishead-esque crooning over ominous orchestral layers.
