Description

What are the best albums by The Beatles? BestEverAlbums. com brings together thousands of 'greatest ever album' charts and calculates an overall ranking.

Absolutely the best Beatles album with Abbey road coming up for second. Great hits like 'A Day In The Life', and other great hits although I love every Beatles album nothing even comes close to Sgt. Peppers. My grandmother showed me this album and we listened to it while painting the walls and since then I was hooked. Whilst some have accused the cover of being pretentious, and revolution 9 is still a questionable choice, the white album still remains as the Beatles peak. Personally, I have always found this album to be their most interesting and daring statement, it just oozes with psychedelia. The album, also provides some of the bands best known and beloved tracks (back in the ussr, blackbird, helter skelter etc). This is the bridge between the fun-beatles age and the iconic deep lyrics age that people enjoy.

The Beatles' final album, which was actually recorded before 'Abbey Road' but released after, was mired in confusion. After the sprawling and tension-filled sessions for 'The White Album,' in which the four members basically became each other's backing bands, the Beatles secluded themselves in the studio, hoping to rekindle their passion for music and each other. It didn't work out that way. The album sat on the shelves for more than a year, until producer Phil Spector tried assembling a record from the aborted sessions

Fifty years ago this month, The Beatles made a splash with their self-titled album, which came to be known as the White Album due to its minimalist cover. On Friday, the band released a deluxe version of the groundbreaking double album, filled with outtakes, demos and remastered versions of the songs. The White Album anniversary is also an opportunity to deliver a definitive ranking of the iconic band’s albums.

The White Album is the best Beatles album because it shows most fully the Beatles range of songwriting skills and influence. it's astonishing their ability to write brilliantly in so many vastly different styles. Everyone is writing at their best (even Ringo wrote a hit!). The White Album is the perfect example of what the Beatles were: the greatest interpreters of the world's music. No other album encompasses their genius as completely. It's cohesiveness is found in its sheer diversity.

The Beatles may have released Let It Be last, but their final work as a band was Abbey Road. It's definitive proof that the band broke up at the absolute height of their powers. Recorded in the summer of 1969 after the torturous Let It Be sessions, The Beatles knew that Abbey Road was going to be their last effort, so they put aside their differences to craft a masterpiece. Something" may well be George Harrison's single greatest song, while Lennon's "Come Together" and McCartney's "Oh! Darling" are near-perfect compositions. Though it was cut in just one month, Rubber Soul was the first time that The Beatles recorded an album all at once – as opposed to cutting various songs during downtime from their insane schedule.

An album is defined by the Official Charts Company (OCC) as being a type of music release that features more than four tracks and lasts longer than 25 minutes; during the 1960s, sales of albums in the United Kingdom were compiled by several different magazines, including New Musical Express (NME), Record Retailer, Melody Maker, Disc and Record Mirror.

1963 - Please Please Me. 1963 - With The Beatles. 1964 - A Hard Day& Night. 1964 - Beatles For Sale. 1967 - Sgt. Pepper& Lonely Hearts Club Band. 1969 - Yellow Submarine.
