I'm not sure what kind of magic is at work here, but 'Path of the Goat' sounds (to say it nicely) ace. It's heavy, dirty and powerful. Even though THE DEAD GOATS already released an album ("Path Of The Goat", 2012) and an EP ("Children Of The Fungus", 2013), they decided to record a demo with three new songs. Just because they felt it was a mistake not to record and release a demo. Pretty underground kind of thinking, isn't it? Those three songs are really fine stuff for all those who love the old style of Death Metal. A movie sample (don't know which one though) opens up for 'Final Death', a song whose riffs immediately made me think of old DISMEMBER.

The idea behind the The Dead Goats was born during the last european tour of grindcore monster Neuropathia in July of 2010, when the perspective of band’s hiatus became imminent but the notion of abandoning the 90’s Stockholm sound was out of the question. The album was featured at some of the summaries of best records of the year, and Terrorizer Magazine called it some of the most compelling and headbangable Swedeath since the term Swedeath became a viable word while awarding the album a highest possible score.
