That group is A Perfect Circle. Always the brainchild of noted guitar tech Billy Howerdel and (in)famous Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan, APC became known, primarily, as a hard alternative-rock band that Maynard used as a conduit for ideas that did not mesh with Tool’s heavier, more progressive sound. On the subject of the album, i'm torn between this and Thirteenth Step as to which one is best. The first six songs on Mer De Noms are about as good as you'll find in any rock or metal album. Orestes being my favourite.

Sound - 10 Mer De Noms was (unfortunately) the last record of A Perfect Circle that I bought. But it is the best one in my eyes! You have to know that all A Perfect Circle records are great but this one is just incredible! A Perfect Circle have so many strenghts. There also is an instrumental song ('Renholder') on this album. They have powerful song like 'Judith' and also an awesome lovesong that just shows the beauty of Maynard James Keenan's voice.
