Miroslav Ladislav Vitous (born 6 December 1947) is a Czech jazz bassist who has had an extensive career in the U. He has also worked with Chick Corea, Larry Coryell, Jan Garbarek, Freddie Hubbard, Michel Petrucciani, Terje Rypdal, Wayne Shorter, and Joe Zawinul. In 1970 he was a founding member of the group Weather Report. In 1973 he was replaced by Alphonso Johnson.

Bassist Miroslav Vitous was a founding member of Weather Report, making him one of the architects of the highly improvisational approach taken by the original band. On his earlier album Remembering Weather Report (ECM, 2009) he evoked the spirit of the old band and its collective improvisational style (characterized by keyboardist Joe Zawinul as "No one solos, everyone solos").
