The Jones Girls were an American R&B vocal trio of sisters from Detroit, Michigan, United States. Consisting of Brenda, Shirley and Valorie Jones, The Jones Girls first signed and recorded for GM Records in 1970. The trio were best known for their singles during the late–1970s through the 1980s; most notably 1979's "You Gonna Make Me Love Somebody Else". After a six–year tenure with GM, they then recorded for Philadelphia International Records with Gamble & Huff.

The Best of the Jones Girls culls tracks from the trio's sides for Gamble & Huff's Philadelphia International. While you'll find their better-known sides like their million-seller "You Gonna Make Me Love Somebody Else," the exotic Dexter Wansel-produced "Nights Over Egypt," and their original version of "Who Can Run To" (later a 1995 gold hit for Xscape), there are also little-known gems and radio-aired album tracks: an exquisite harmonized version of the Stylistics classic "Children.
The Jones Girls' self-titled debut for Gamble & Huff's Philadelphia International Records yielded the thumpin' million-selling number "You Gonna Make Me Love Somebody Else. The album also boasts several popular radio-aired tracks: the snappy, jazz-flavored "This Feelings Killing Me," the sweet "We're a Melody," the second single "I'm at Your Mercy," and the sweet, shimmering "Who Can I Run To?" The last, the flip side of their gold single, was a 1995 gold hit cover for Xscape, "Off the Hook.
