Mysteries of the World" also keeps the new, softer style of MFSB from drifting into easy listening blandness by playing up the jazz underpinnings of the group's sound. For proof, look no further than the title track, which wraps an array of exploratory keyboard riffs around a busy bassline. The end result is an album that manages to bring a new freshness to their sound without completely severing ties with its old style.

A hundred Thank You's to you for sharing your copy of MFSB's Mysteries of the World LP, plus any of your other MFSB albums Almost 30 years later, I can't tell you what it means to hear this song again, & to see that Philly Funk is alive & well, even though Blues, Jazz, & Funk radio died off where I live, all. those years ago I had grown just big enough to at long last reach the tuning dial on our family's bookshelf wi-fi that sat on top of Mom's upright piano, when my segregation-age father discovered his tiny little boy rockin' his body on the living.

A very warm crisp and well cut record, nice and loud good to hear on 45rpm much better than LP version or CD which is compressed. A classic for those who know ! this record i have kept my eye on over the years keeps going up in price

A major management / marketing mistake by CBS for not putting the full length version of Mysteries Of The World on this UK 12". If they felt that strongly about cutting-off the entire intro for commercial play, they could have at least put the full length version on side B for club play. What were they thinking?

Why it was bad to get Phongram (Philips manufacturing arm) to press for you! IEPs (Integral Embossed & Painted)are just cheap and tacky this has that custard yellow paint used on Janus releases. These were tried out and experemented with in France, Presses was set up in Germany, Austria, England, sadly Netherlands Netherlands did continue with classic 3" paper labels for some time esp re RSO and Polydor releases.Arista and Chrysalis found out the hard way realising that people liked and wanted paper labels. Phonogram too realised that they were really uncollectible rubbish. ie The two Fontana singles Box Sets not an IEP in sight!
