Zooropa is the eighth studio album by Irish rock band U2. Produced by Flood, Brian Eno, and The Edge, it was released on 5 July 1993 on Island Records. Inspired by the band's experiences on the Zoo TV Tour, Zooropa expanded on many of the tour's themes of technology and media oversaturation. The record was a continuation of the group's experimentation with alternative rock, electronic dance music, and electronic sound effects that began with their previous album, Achtung Baby, in 1991.
Initially intended to be just an EP, Zooropa became a full-fledged album with 10 tracks recorded in six-weeks, the fastest U2 album ever. Interesting releases from around the world included two Australian sets of 2 x 5 CD packs. The first 2 x 5 CD pack included a copy of the Stay (Swing Format) single as the 2nd bonus CD. Virgin Megastore in Adelaide also released the Even Better Than the Real Thing single as their 2nd bonus CD. In Germany, Universal released a 2-CD box set with a copy of both Achtung Baby and Zooropa. Release date: 5 July 1993. Clear disc tray?: No. Zooropa ( Main key: Eb Minor, Initial keys: F, Bb Minor). Lemon (Eb Minor, F Major). Stay (Faraway, So Close!) (Eb Major). Daddy's Gonna Pay for Your Crashed Car (G Minor). Some Days Are Better Than Others (C Major).
Zooropa" was the opening track from the eponymous album, and promotional recordings (promos) of the song were distributed by Island Records in the United States and Mexico. Zooropa" was one of four songs from the album to be featured on the Billboard charts, and was the only song to chart that was not released as a single. On 24 July 1993, it appeared on the Album Rock Tracks chart at number 26, and remained on the chart for ten weeks, eventually peaking at number eight. Zooropa" also appeared Live performances.
Due to the shortness of the Zooropa album, two bonus tracks are added. The two tracks are Lemon (The Perfecto Mix) (B-Side to Lemon ) and Numb (Gimme Some More Dignity Mix) (From the Melon CD for Propaganda). The notes on where these are from are taken from the lyrics included in the new package, which are on the back of one of two inner sleeves included with the vinyl. 2018 Album Remaster: Directed by The Edge Remastering Engineering by Scott Sedillo at Bernie Grundman Mastering Audio Master Transfer Director: Declan Gaffney Project Production Manager on Behalf of Island Records, UMC: Lisa Power Archive Manager: Rebecca Coffey.
