The album was nominated for Best Rock Album at the 2010 Grammy Awards, while 'I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight' was nominated for two other Grammy's. Background Information. The album No Line on the Horizon was the 2009 studio album released by U2. The title is taken from the song of the same name, which is the lead track on the album. Initial recording for the album took place with producer Rick Rubin in 2006, but much of that material was shelved. Between May 2007 and December 2008, U2 worked with Daniel Lanois and Brian Eno not only as producers, but as collaborators and members of the songwriting team in studios in New York, London, Dublin, and in Morocco.

Still self-aware enough to sense stagnation, the quartet began to work on what would become No Line on the Horizon with new producer Rick Rubin and an imperative to break all those piling U2 trappings once again. As Bono told The New York Times this week: "When you become a comfortable, reliable friend, I'm not sure that's the place for rock'n'roll. Meanwhile, the album's ballyhooed experimentation is either terribly misguided or hidden underneath a wash of shameless U2-isms (the three-note ring Edge nicks from "Walk On" for "Unknown Caller", the "oh oh oh" outro from "Stay" apparently copied and pasted into "Moment of Surrender", et. While Eno used to work his unique sound-bobbles and ambiance into the fabric of U2 songs, he seems content to offer spacey intros totally disassociated from their accompanying tunes here (see: "Fez - Being Born", "Magnificent").

No Line on the Horizon" is a song by rock band U2; it is the opening and title track on their 2009 album No Line on the Horizon. An alternate version, "No Line on the Horizon 2", was included as a bonus track on some versions of the album.

When the band returned with No Line On The Horizon, the reaction prompted five million sales in as many months and led to the band breaking the record for the highest-grossing tour in music history. The masters of creative renewal had done it again. During 2005, the year after How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb, the ‘Vertigo’ tour saw U2 play to . million people. In February 2009, in the weeks leading to the album’s appearance, U2 unveiled ‘Get On Your Boots’ in awards season. They performed it at that month’s Grammys, BRITS and Arias. They had an even more dramatic set-piece up their sleeve, with a traffic-stopping, headline-starting mini-gig on the roof of the BBC’s Broadcasting House in London. Then, another first, with a week-long residency on the American TV staple Late Night With David Letterman.
