Track listing (Songs).
Ø Void (pronounced in interviews as "double-O void") is the first studio album by Sunn O))). The album was recorded on 24 track 2" tape at Grandmaster Studios in Hollywood, a large step forward in production values from the band's demo recording The Grimmrobe Demos. The third track, "Rabbits' Revenge", is an interpretation of an obscure Melvins' song that was only played live during their early years. A sample of a live performance of the original song can be heard past the five minute mark.
This is the re-release of their first album and I currently own it on 180 gram vinyl. If you’re going to tell me that this isn’t music! It’s just all noise and guitar feedback! you’d be right. There are no drums anywhere in the album, making the ambience and atmosphere reach extreme levels while leaving virtually no tempo for you to nod your head to; all you can do is just sit, close your eyes, and listen. When I listen to this band, I’m not looking for them to keep me engaged, not be repetitive, or be creative.
Released date 26 June 2000. Labels Hydra Head Records. Re-Issue in 2008 by Hydra Head Records with 3 bonustracks.

The title says it all, really. I don't even know how I should pronounce it, but yet it speaks volumes. I like to think that it's supposed to be something like "Null Null Void", but that's merely a favored guess based upon what the album sounds like. Void" is definitely the best word to use to describe the album, beyond a doubt. It is void of so many things common to the music we hear on a regular basis. It is essentially void of vocals, aside from some background chanting in a couple of spots on the record.
00 Void is Sunn's second album, and it's no huge departure from their first one, The Grimmrobe Demos. They are still creating sludgy, Wall of Sound drones out of down-tuned guitar and bass feedback like before, although this time around the production does a better job at capturing the extreme low-end aspect of their sound.
However, the band initially released ØØ Void (its second album) on multiple labels, including Rise Above Records, Hydra Head Records, and Dirter Productions (which pressed it as a double album on vinyl). Additionally, the original pressing of The Grimmrobe Demos was released by Hydra Head Records. It was later issued as a double picture record set by Outlaw Recordings and finally reissued by Southern Lord in 2004. The logo the band uses is also that of the Sunn amplifier brand.
