Carl Wilson was the lead guitarist of The Beach Boys from 1961 until his passing in 1998.
Carl Wilson is the self-titled debut solo album of The Beach Boys' band member, Carl Wilson. The youngest of the three Wilson brothers in the band, Carl Wilson was reportedly at this time unhappy with the progress being made by The Beach Boys creatively.
Carl Dean Wilson (December 21, 1946 – February 6, 1998) was an American musician, singer, and songwriter who co-founded the Beach Boys. He is best remembered as their lead guitarist, as the youngest brother of bandmates Brian and Dennis Wilson, and as the group's de facto leader in the early 1970s. He was also the band's musical director on stage from 1965 until his death.
A solo album by Carl Wilson was an extremely appealing proposition. As one of the main ingredients of the Beach Boys ' vocal sound, he certainly commanded some real attention. As a harmony vocalist, he usually sang the middle part of the pattern, with Mike Love at the bottom and Brian Wilson on top. The middle-range harmony is what truly made the sound work, and Carl Wilson was a master of it. And forget about his ability as a lead singer and guitarist
Carl Wilson is the self-titled debut solo album of The Beach Boys' band member, Carl Wilson. The album was released on March 27, 1981 and peaked at number 185 on the Billboard 200. Of the eight tracks on the album, seven of them are written by Carl Wilson and Myrna Smith, who was the wife of Carl's then manager Jerry Schilling, with the remaining track being co-written by Carl, Myrna and Michael Sun.
