Some of their songs ARE timeless. Others were just forgettable. Even the band members have stated they hated certain songs. And everyone has their own opinion. I believe The Beatles were unique simply because they wanted each album to show progress, to contain a higher quality of sound and idea. And (to my mind) they are the only band which has ever done that. The first two albums included covers of many blues songs. If you listen to their albums in sequence you will notice every album is different in some way. Not only did they become better musicians; but their songwriting skills improved
