This is YES at their best!. Oh I just see it's not YES, it's STARCASTLE, so it's STARCASTLE at their best. This is in fact a great compilation of early unreleased recordings of them. I guess that this album will satisfy most of your appetite for "Starcastle". It is a good representation of their work and skips the most pop, AOR poorest part of their repertoire. Released material is mostly better performed here while the unreleased tracks are not great, frankly.

Real to Reel is the fourth studio album by American progressive rock band Starcastle. It was their final release on Epic Records. Real to Reel marked a drastic change of direction from their previous progressive rock efforts to a more AOR-oriented sound. It was a commercial failure, generally panned by critics and fans alike and ultimately led to Starcastle disbanding.

Starcastle is a progressive rock band from Champaign, Illinois. Formed in 1969, the group played many shows under the names Pegasus and Mad John Fever before eventually settling on Starcastle. They inked their first record deal with Epic Records and received extensive airplay and frequently played in the St. Louis area.
