John Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Starr are all in Los Angeles with Klaus Voormann, the bassist rumoured to replace Paul McCartney after his departure from the group. Also recorded during this month was Randy Newman's "Have You Seen My Baby?"; it features overdubbed guitar by Bolan which was added at A&M Studios. of sessions lasted until 27 March. The next day, Starr and Perry flew to England. More work on the tracks was done at Burbank Studios, The Sound Lab, and Producers' Workshop.

The Beatles comprised John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. Although Lennon and McCartney were initially the principal songwriters, Harrison and Starr made significant contributions as the band matured. George Martin produced almost all of the Beatles' recordings. This was quickly followed by the recording of their first album, With the Beatles, a mix of original songs by Lennon and McCartney along with some covers. Beatlemania began in Britain on 13 October 1963 with a televised appearance at the London Palladium. Lennon and Harrison began experimenting with LSD that year and McCartney would do likewise near the end of 1966. In July 1966 Lennon caused a backlash against The Beatles when he claimed during an interview that Christianity was dying, quipping that the Beatles were "more popular than Jesus.

But they don’t get paid for composing the songs because they weren’t the composers. Ringo changed drumming - he was the most innovative drummer in the history of the instrument - line up 100 drummers who have never heard ‘Get Back’ - and NONE of them will think to use that beat. Harrison was one of the most structured players ever - he never wasted a note. One could write a dissertation about his solos.

Lennon and Harrison agreed to let McCartney's album come out as planned, and delayed the release of Let It Be. While McCartney had scored a superficial victory, his relations with the drummer took a number of years to fully recover. In April 1973 John Lennon even admitted – just as he, George and Ringo decided to rid themselves of Allen Klein as their manager – that possibly Paul’s suspicions were right concerning Mr. Klein. That must have hurt! George was having legal problems with Allen Klein even into the 80s and 90s.

All four members – John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr – had embarked on successful careers as solo artists or, in McCartney’s case, with his new band Wings. Yet, the shadow of the boys’ former band continued to loom large. With McCartney, Harrison and Starr firmly in middle age in the early ’80s, the former Beatles were charting new territory in rock ’n’ roll. The glossy album found Harrison working with old friends (Lynne, Starr, Clapton and Elton John) on new tunes, including a song (and video) that reflected on Beatlemania: When We Was Fab. But the big smash was the chart-topping cover of Rudy Clark’s bouncy Got My Mind Set on You.
