Exclusive discount for Prime members. The Replacements made their first great album in 1984 with "Let It Be", which showed the band developing a more sincere sound on a couple of tracks. The album recieved a lot of critical acclaim and was able to get them signed to a major lable at Sire records.

Pleased to Meet Me wraps up with two phenomenal songs. First, "Skyway", a melancholy song that would suck if it were done by any other band. Sorry, I can't describe it better you have to hear to understand. This is a Replacements album worth acquiring no matter who you are. Whether you are a longtime fan of someone who has never heard them before. This isn't just a good Replacement's album, it's a good album period.

Pleased to Meet Me could be heard as an overcompensation for Tim's failings. The Replacements' influence on the alt-rock explosion of the 90s has been overstated, but their approach has continued to resonate in smaller scenes, where you feel like you're experiencing music up close, less mediated by rock star iconography.

Pleased to Meet Me was released July 7, 1987. It was The Replacements' fifth album and the second one they recorded after being pulled up to the big leagues to partner with juggernaut Sire, Warner Brothers. It was also their first and only record made as a trio.

Stellar sounding reissue here. Nothing bad to say about this one. Full, spacious sound. Dead quiet press. Great sonics for a great price.
