Really enjoying the mono mixes on this album, never heard Doors in mono before and it's definitely an awesome experience. First thing I notice is how real the drum kit sounds. Sounds like Densmore is set up in the room. The mixes are more rough adding a kind of improvised live feel to the songs. The clarity is exceptional and Morrison's voice is right up front, flowing from the speakers effortlessly yet powerfully. Manzarek's organ is very noticeable and cutting, I would say almost moreso than on the stereo mixes. Nothing sounds compressed, the music really opens up, breathing through the room and has a huge impact, never waning in intensity. Excellent fidelity, excellent definition and detail. Nice clear highs and full low end. Excellent pressing quality from QRP, no surface noise, plays dead quiet and centered. No flaws to speak of. Comes in anti-static poly sleeve. The live tracks are nice too. 10/10
