Quantum Gate is a 2017 album by Tangerine Dream. It is roughly their one-hundred and fiftieth album. It is the first full-length album since the death of founder Edgar Froese in 2015, and is largely based on ideas and musical sketches left by Froese. This album earned the group the most press they have had since the release of 1994's Turn of the Tides due to the revived interest in the group following Edgar's death.

Tangerine Dream have announced details of a new studio album, Quantum Gate, due for release in September 2017. The album is the legendary electronic trio’s first since the death of founding member and guiding light Edgar Froese in January 2015.

This is a bridging album for Tangerine Dream, allowing them to make the transition from Froese’s dominant influence into uncharted waters. His presence is still obvious here, and the next album will be vital. However, Quantum Gate is an impressive celebration of both past and future.
