This video was made to honor Edgar Froese and Salvador Dalí. Images are being used as "fair-use". The video is random, and should reflect the surrealism of both amazing minds: Froese and Dalí. Some photos are also random album artwork.
Ages is Tangerine Dream leader Edgar Froese's fourth studio album, released in 1978. Originally a double LP, it was reissued by Virgin Records in 1997 on one CD, with the closing track "Golgatha and the Circle Closes" missing. Froese has since remixed the album and released it on his own Eastgate label in 2005. This version also omitted a track, but not the same one as before, and another song, "Metropolis", was shortened.
Dalinetopia, recorded in 2004 and released on Edgar Froese's new-founded label Eastgate Music in January 2005 is his first proper solo album with completely new material since Pinnacles (1983). According to Edgar Froese's liner notes the music is "composed in honor and respect of an artist character who touched more than anybode else the level of subconscious all human beings have in common". This man, of course, is Salvador Dali, the Spanish artist
22 years after his last studio effort, "Pinnacles", Froese releases a tribute album to his idol, Salvador Dali. The German musician personally knew the Spanish painter and was invited to play at his villa in Spain. Dali appreciated the musical approaches of TANGERINE DREAM's leader.
Also, Edgar Froese is playing guitar on this album!! No stand ins, Finally. To my disappointment though he has lost his love for great lead runs like those we heard in "Three Bikes in The Sky," or the ending passages of "London. To my ear, the most noticeable thing is just how much Edgar seems to have learnt from his son Jerome, for this is the first Froese solo album to feature any decent drum machine programming.
