Carbon Clouds, Enon's first proper album since Hocus Pocus, straightforward is the new strange. The trio puts aside the pixilated, eclectic style of earlier albums for most of these songs, focusing on cranked-up rock instead. It's a pretty big change, but not an entirely unwelcome one, since sometimes Hocus Pocus and High Society teetered on the edge of becoming too precious.

LP (12" album, 33 rpm). I can't tell you whether this album is better or worse if you already like Enon because I'm not familiar with their back catalog. The best songs on this album are bass-driven dance songs, "Colette" in particular although "Dr. Freeze" and "Sabina" and "Paperweights" are also good tunes.
