Jarrett may spout off about society's self-centered soullessness in his querulous liner notes, but he and his trio have clearly backed his words by example, pulling off a genuine collective musical experience.

Changeless is a live album by American pianist Keith Jarrett's "Standards Trio" featuring Gary Peacock and Jack DeJohnette recorded in concert in October, 1987 at various venues and released on the ECM label in 1992.

Standards is a two-volume set of jazz albums released by the Keith Jarrett trio in 1983. Originally released by ECM, they have been multiply re-issued, including by Universal/Polygram. The two volumes present performances of pianist Keith Jarrett with Gary Peacock on double bass and Jack DeJohnette on drums. Vol. 1 reached N. 4 on the Billboard Jazz Albums charts. In 2008 the two albums, along with 1983's Changes, were collected into a boxed set, Setting Standards: New York Sessions.

The trio compatriots are as good at their instrument as Jarrett is at his. This album is the best piece of recorded music I have ever heard (I'm 62 now and used to work at a college progressive radio station). This is primal, elemental, well-played, superbly produced, and more; words fail me. It sends shivers through my being.
