The ancient legend of Orpheus and Eurydice concerns the fateful love of Orpheus of Thrace, son of Apollo and the muse Calliope, for the beautiful Eurydice (from Eurudike, "she whose justice extends widely"). It may have been derived from a legend in which Orpheus travels to Tartarus and charms the goddess Hecate.

The myth of Orpheus and Eurydice is one of the most famous and beloved Greek myths. Read how Orpheus went to Hades to find Eurydice and bring her back to life. Orpheus fell in love with Eurydice a woman of unique beauty; they got married and lived happily for many years. At some time, soon after his omen, Eurydice was wandering in the forest with the Nymphs, when Aristaeus, a shepherd saw her and was beguiled by her beauty. He started chasing her and making advances on her. Eurydice got scared and tried to escape, but she was bitten by a snake and died. Orpheus sang his grief with his lyre and managed to move everything living or not on the.

The story of Orpheus and Eurydice is the ultimate tragic love story. Perhaps one of the most famous Greek myths, it has inspired many important painters, such as Peter Paul Rubens and Nicolas Poussin. Moreover, many operas, songs and plays have been composed to honour these two great lovers who tragically lost the chance to enjoy their love. The story of Orpheus and Eurydice has been told in many versions with a few differences between them. Hereby we present you a mixture of these various versions
Orpheus vs. the Sirens. With Orpheus vs. the Sirens, he’s added another fascinating chapter to his nighttime grimoire. There’s an epic (in the literary sense) quality to Ka’s storytelling. And the same is true for the whole of the album. Orpheus vs. the Sirens has an exceedingly rare artistic clarity which rings sharp and pure like a Tibetan singing bowl. Here, Ka’s age works in his favor: In a genre overflowing with intemperate youth, he is a wizened, patient sage burdened only by memories of a Brooklyn past and volumes of arcane incantations for his shrouded, dusty devout.
