The ancient legend of Orpheus and Eurydice concerns the fateful love of Orpheus of Thrace, son of Apollo and the muse Calliope, for the beautiful Eurydice (from Eurudike, "she whose justice extends widely"). It may have been derived from a legend in which Orpheus travels to Tartarus and charms the goddess Hecate.

Orpheus biography Orpheus is an atmospheric rock project with progressive elements which was formed in 2006 by vocalist/guitarist and main songwriter, James Young, and drummer and co-songwriter, Thomas Vallely. The lyrical themes revolve around nature and the ocean, exploration and history. The band released their debut album, 'Philosopher of the Sublime' in May 2010 through London based experimental label Paradigms Recordings.
