Violator: The Album is a hip-hop/R&B compilation album, released on August 10, 1999 by Def Jam Recordings. It was the first release through the imprint Violator Records, a spin-off of Mona Scott & Chris Lighty's Violator Management company. A number of then-Violator Management clients and associates appear on the album, among them Q-Tip, Busta Rhymes, and Noreaga.
Violator is the seventh studio album by English electronic music band Depeche Mode. It was released on 19 March 1990 by Mute Records. Preceded by the singles "Personal Jesus" and "Enjoy the Silence" (a top-10 entry in both the United Kingdom and the United States), the album propelled the band into international stardom, and also yielded the singles "Policy of Truth" and "World in My Eyes"
Violator ~ Violator: The Album. Compilations assembled to showcase record label rosters have become increasingly the norm. On Violator: The Album, the featured artists-including LL Cool J, Noreaga, the Beatnuts, and Busta Rhymes, are on different labels but have one thing in common-Chris Lighty's Violator Management company. And LL Cool J's "Say What" sounds like it was left off Phenomenon. Flipmode Squad's "Whatcha Come Around Here For" isn't all that bad, but it sounds just like "We Could Take It Outside", "Everybody On The Line Outside", and every other song they made.
I relate to the lyrics (always important) and I like the musical arrangement. Halo by Depeche Mode from the album Violator (1990): Halo by Depeche Mode: You wear guilt Like shackles on your feet Like a halo in reverse I can feel The discomfort in your seat And in your head it's worse. I am tempted to say every song but I will go with ‘enjoy the silence’ and ‘waiting for the night'. This was the first Depeche Mode album I ever heard, from my older sister's friend. Besides my personal attachment I still argue it's their finest work. Violator was sleek and alluring, massively influential and a huge seller immediately upon its release. 28 views · View 2 Upvoters.
