Hey guys! This is the first episode of a new segment of this channel I'm starting called Album Thoughts, where I pick an album from the past I'm not to. .
Bright Eyes tabs, chords, guitar, bass, ukulele chords, power tabs and guitar pro tabs including bowl of oranges, a line allows progress a circle does not, an attempt to tip the scales, at the bottom of everything, another travellin song.
Fevers and Mirrors is the third album by the Nebraska indie band Bright Eyes, recorded in 1999 and released on May 29, 2000. It was the 32nd release of the Omaha, Nebraska-based record label Saddle Creek Records. The album was released later in 2000 in the United Kingdom as the inaugural release from Wichita Recordings. The album begins with a recording of a little boy reading Mitchell Is Moving, a book by Marjorie Weinman Sharmat

A dozen years after its release, Fevers & Mirrors, Bright Eyes' defining LP, is reissued by Saddle Creek, along with 2002's There Is No Beginning to the Story E. The symbolic significance of Fevers and Mirrors' title boils down to how, in self-reflection, we reveal only the ailments which we project. This thing causes our internal mirrors to reflect some fucked-up fevers.
On Fevers And Mirrors, the sick guy grudgingly does return to bed, and stays there most of the time, blearily contemplating his fevers in his mirrors. He does still attempt to make a few escapades - like on ʽThe Calendar Hung Itselfʼ, whose prime point of attraction is a little foam-at-the-mouth hysteria staged around a mad chanting of ʽYou Are My Sunshineʼ that is supposed to reflect the protagonist’s suicidal desperation (she’s gone, you know, and this is sufficient ground for behaving like an ugly. The only reason why I don’t give the album an overall negative assessment is because it is really neutral rather than overtly negative. Behind all the nicely planned multi-layered arrangements Oberst’s angst and personal apocalypse does not hit as hard on the nerves, so the album just goes by, unfelt, unnoticed, but inspiring a little hope that this could be the beginning of real musical growth.
With Fevers and Mirrors being their third full-length release, a strong adaptation of Radiohead, Blur, and Suede is conveniently wrapped up in a neat lo-fi package. But without completely ripping anyone off, Bright Eyes feature their own cadence of loose indie and shaky, emotional vocals. The results amount to a catchy collection of elaborate pop that's been perfectly captured on a nickel budget.
