To make the band complete, AJ Mogis (bass) and Shane Aspegren (drums) joined Lullaby for the Working Class and shortly thereafter the band inked a deal with Bar-None Records while making themselves noticed at various gigs in and around . specifically at the CMJ Music Festival. Their 1996 debut Blanket Warm was critically acclaimed, making ways for fellow Nebraska bands (Commander Venus, Norman Baylor, We'd Rather Be Flying) to venture outside the cornhusker state. A sophomore effort I Never Even Asked for Light followed in 1997 and Song was released two years later.

I Never Even Asked For Light.

Spreading The Evening Sky With Crows. This song is by Lullaby For The Working Class. An old women she just told meThis is the lonliest life she has ever seenEvery wrinkle is a monumentMeant for dust and decayThe painter understood thisSpreading the evening sky with crowsThe sky all black placentaIt's too big to ignore. Pull out the lawn chairs,And watch the angels rip out their wingsMy sweet eternity,You were more than I bargoned forI guess all good things come to an end.

Light pours through the transom As wanton hearts turn endlessly in sleepless labyrinthine memory (a passing bus shakes the whole house exposing two feet at a foot board) What awful dregs have tired so easily! what futile repetition and longing! In seizures we might gain true vision of all that is absolute and senseless. In a ceiling fan cadence A pulsing mechanical presence Our bare arms prop up dull thoughts of how one sleeps through the night with all the binging and purging, snoring awakening. Some may never shake their demons  .  Tracks related to seizures - lullaby for the working class. by: sorry about dresden.
