Sundown (Gordon Lightfoot album). Sundown is Canadian singer Gordon Lightfoot's tenth original album, released in 1974 on the Reprise Records label. It reached in the US on the pop chart, the only Lightfoot album to achieve this.
Sundown, Carefree Highway (LP, Album). If 'If you could read my mind' gave him his break in the USA as a star this album cemented his success. The MOFI half speed version really does trump other versions for sound but frankly the original pressing is pretty damn fine too.
About Sundown lyrics. Album Sundown (1974). Label Reprise Records. Gordon Lightfoot – Sundown Lyrics. from album: Sundown (1974). I can see her lyin' back in her satin dress In a room where ya do what ya don't confess Sundown ya better take care If I find you been creepin' 'round my back stairs Sundown ya better take care If I find you been creepin' 'round my back stairs She's been lookin' like a queen in a sailor's dream. And she don't always say what she really means Sometimes I think it's a shame When I get feelin' better when I'm feelin' no pain Sometimes I think it's a shame When.
Sundown is Canadian singer Gordon Lightfoot's tenth original album, released in 1974 on the Reprise Records label. 1974 studio album by Gordon Lightfoot.
Sundown is the title song from Gordon Lightfoot’s tenth album. It was written by Gordon and produced by Lenny Waronker. Carefree Highway was the second single released from Gordon Lightfoot’s album Sundown.
Lightfoot's commercial peak came with this album, which topped the . charts, containing both the number one title song and the Top Ten hit "Carefree Highway. But songs like "Somewhere . and "High and Dry" are textured, catchy folk-rock on a par with the better-known tunes.
Gordon Lightfoot could write a tale, and most were true! I love 'The Wreck of Edmund Fitzgerald,' nonpareil! Kevin from TnI always wondered if "Sometimes I think it's a shame When I get feelin' better when I'm feelin' no pain" is a reference to getting over a hangover. Darcy from PaOh, so many know-it-alls!!!! How many of u personally spoke to Gordon and now are experts so that you can come on here and tell us what the meaning of this song is? Offer an opinion. And, state it as such. Fred from Laurel, Mdarch, SD, Cal - If you're looking into Gord's other works, I recommend the album, Summertime Dream. It's more similar to this song, Sundown, than are his early works, like Early Mornin Rain, which I also like, and was covered by just about every major folk-style artist in the late 60's.
