This disk - not ReissueThis disk - RePress because it has a matrix, as well as at First Press 818 339-2 01 At Reissue, matrix of 818 339-2 02 #P.S. Everything is confused on this site :-)

This disc mentions PDO which was a name that plant did not start using until January 1986, hence the circa 1986 release date entry. The disc with 02 matrix mentions PMDC instead which is an even later incarnation of the same pressing plant. There are discs with 01 matrix which don't say PDO and came earlier than 1986. Therefore this PDO-stamped disc is indeed a reissue of sorts.Plus, regardless of what pressing it is on CD, it is still a reissue of the 1980 album. This broader definition of reissue—which refers to an album or single being re-released, perhaps after going out of print or just debuting on a new format—can justify the Reissue tag on Discogs.Meanwhile, the CD with matrix 02 is derived from glass master disc #2 and is technically not a repress since it is not pressed from molds derived from the same master disc as the first CD. Nevertheless, on Discogs if there is a reason to file it as a separate release (and in this case, the credit to PMDC instead of PDO is such a reason), and all else being equal, then we do traditionally call it a 'repress'. If it were not a separate release then it would be an ordinary 'manufacturing variation' of the first pressing. In either case, this title being perpetually in print in the '80s, the 02 matrix may well just be a continuation of pressing discs to meet demand after the molds from the first master disc were all worn out, and our choice to distinguish it as a separate release and which tags to use is a matter of trying to settle arguments moreso than making perfect sense! There is still much disagreement and frustration regarding when and how to use these tags, and what the definitions of these terms should be. If you search the database forum for 'repress' you will probably find some of the lengthy and passionate discussions.
