A1 and A2 with a running time of nearly 20 minutes between them are very Weatherall 'on cruise control ', clattering percussion and tribal, ethnic sensibilities to the fore stretch a basic idea beyond the point of absurdity. Maybe the original just didn't excite them in the studio that day, maybe there was not enough coffee available. If tribal techno was made for lifts, it would sound like this.B1 and B2 are a universe away from the dire A1 and A2 remixes. Tregoning has a great time with these mixes and you can hear that, full of the humour you would expect from a Yello production,the unexpected dynamics and 'what did I just hear?' moments that Blank layers into every Yello track.

After listening to this 12" for the first time in years, I completely agree with your assessment of the remixes offered. Tregoning produces interpretations that are interesting whilst Weatherall squandered an opportunity, which is shocking considering that it's a Yello track he was remixing. Is "Jungle Bill" their finest moment? No. But it certainly isn't their worst.
