Jazz played in a concert hall or a club is for many the pinnacle of the art form and here are the 50 best live jazz albums of all time. But it’s also jazz played in the setting of an intimate club that is wonderful. Whether it be at The Village Vanguard, Mr Kelly’s, or The Lighthouse, The Five spot or Birdland. Seems like my favourite live jazz album didn’t make the cut. Recorded Live at the Monterey Jazz Festival by John Handy.
