The Climax Blues Band (originally known as The Climax Chicago Blues Band) is a British blues rock band. The band was formed in Stafford, England, in 1967 by vocalist and harmonica player Colin Cooper (1939–2008), guitarist and vocalist Pete Haycock (1951–2013), guitarist Derek Holt (b. 1949), bassist and keyboardist Richard Jones (b. 1949), drummer George Newsome (b. 1947), and keyboardist Arthur Wood (1929–2005).
The Climax Jazz Band is a Canadian dixieland group that has recorded for a variety of small labels. This LP from 1977 gives one a good example of the fun group which at the time consisted of trumpeter Bob Erwig, trombonist Geoff Holmes, clarinetist Jim Buchmann (in his only recording with the band), banjoist Jack Vincken, bassist Chris Daniels and drummer Stephen Tattersall.

Listen to Spreading Joy from Sidney Bechet's Portrait for free, and see the artwork, lyrics and similar artists. He was one of the first important soloists in jazz (beating cornetist and trumpeter Louis Armstrong to the recording studio by several months and later playing duets with Armstrong), and was perhaps the first notable jazz saxophonist. Forceful delivery, well-constructed improvisations, and a distinctive, wide vibrato characterized Bechet's playing. Bechet's erratic temperament hampered his career, however, and not until the late 1940s did he earn wide acclaim.
