Dedicated Horowitz fans will most likely already have a good number of these recordings, if not all of them; most already have been individually issued or in other combined packages since the advent of the compact disc era. However, it could be a useful set for someone who is looking for a crash course in solo piano repertoire. Horowitz had his strengths and weaknesses, just like any other pianist, but his tastes were board enough to encompass all eras of classical music, from the Baroque to the post-Romantic.
