Come My Fanatic. s the second studio album by English band Electric Wizard.

Album · 1997 · 8 Songs.

is Electric Wizard's sophomore album and the moment the band found their "true sound". While still proudly churning out Sabbath-inspired riffs and loose-hitting drum beats, like they did on their self-titled debut album, there is a significant change production-wise. It's dirtier, rawer and far more oppressive than before, which creates a rather unnerving atmosphere with plenty of psychedelic undertones to further increase the mindfuckery; particularly so if you're on a bad acid trip.

Electric Wizard are best known for their hour-long work of slurring, muddy guitars and angsty distorted vocals on Dopethrone, so their second album that came just before it, Come My Fanatics, is often swept under the rug and given little of the attention it deserves. I admit that I first turned to Dopethrone like everyone else upon hearing of Electric Wizard. Later, when I was impressed and wanted more, I sorted through their discography, looking for other albums by the band that people talked about.

Even though Come My Fanatics. It sounds like it was recorded in a brown paper bag. It’s flat and very compressed. to be a superior record. While there is nothing on here better than Dopethrone's "Funeralopolis", there are no dull moments like "I, the Witchfinder", which I always thought kind of got lost in the middle of itself, and not in a good way. Basically, I'm saying that this album is more consistent in quality, with a smoother flow.

while somewhat less immediate than its predecessor, somehow upped the sonic ante through a wall of sludge so thick that even the most experienced of metal heads couldn't help but be overwhelmed by its power. y: Electric Wizard (1997, Rock). Electric Wizard is the debut studio album by English doom metal band Electric Wizard released in 1994 through Rise Above Records and re-released bundled with their second album, Come My Fanatics. A remastered version was then released on CD and LP in 2006, with two bonus tracks, taken from a demo entitled Doom Chapter. The origins of Electric Wizard go back to 1988 when Jus Oborn formed the band Lord of Putrefaction.

(CD, Album, RE, Dig). Although the bonus 7" is not really important, here you have a good pressing of one of the finest doom albums out there. On this opus Electric Wizard struck a perfect balance between production, songs, and the space those songs the need to properly sludge-out, the indivisable wizard-ness and the mystical ambience which is never contrived and always mainlined to your Wizard gland.
